HO CHI MINH CITY TOURISM successfully introduced Ao Dai Festival, ITE HCMC 2020 and Ho Chi Minh City Marathon at WTM London 2019

London, United Kingdom – 06 November 2019

Exhibiting at WTM London 2019, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism, together with Vietnam Administration of Tourism (VNAT), organized the Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Roadshow in United Kingdom from 04 to 06 November 2019, with the following activities:

  • exhibiting at WTM London – the world’s leading travel trade show;
  • Vietnam Tourism Press Conference on 05 November 2019;
  • Tò he (Vietnam toy figurines) – Vietnamese Folk arts performance and Puppet Art and
  • Happily Ho Chi Minh City Mini Showcase.

Hoa, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department, under chairmanship of VNAT, following 40 leading travel agents (Saigontourist, Vietravel, etc), hotels, resorts.


On Tuesday, 5 November 2019, the second day of WTM London, Vietnam
Tourism Press Conference at ExCel London attracted 100 international media and professionals. VNAT and Ho Chi Minh City Tourism gave latest updates on new supporting policy, products and services for European travellers, and chance to win a trip to Vietnam.


“In the 9 first month of 2019, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed more than 135,184
tourists from UK, comprised of 57% of the total arrivals of Vietnam. With the advantage that Vietnamese government has decided to extend visa exemption for citizens of United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain till June 2021 and issue e-visa for almost European countries, this is our enthusiastic effort to promote Ho Chi Minh City as a travel gateway & a coffee paradise & a hub of Vietnam food and cultures to European Travel Agents and Industry Players. Ho Chi Minh City will tell you the secrets of the world’s happiest cities” said by Ms Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa. In addition, at the press conference, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism successfully introduced the upcoming key events: Ho Chi Minh City Techcombank Marathon from 06 – 08 November 2019; Ao Dai Festival from 06 – 23 March 2020 and ITE
HCMC 2020 in September – the Largest and the Most Established travel event in Mekong Sub-region and Asia.


On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism invited quality international buyers and media to join the 16 th edition of International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2019), which will take place in September 2020 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC). ITE HCMC 2019 under the theme “Travel Gateway to Asia” is the key bridge in the tourism industry for both inbound and outbound markets in Vietnam and the region.

On Wednesday, 06 November 2019, Happy Hour hosted by Ho Chi Minh City Tourism had attracted a large crowd to enjoy Vietnamese cuisine and beers. It is a chance to promote Vietnamese specialties to UK and European market.
